I’m expecting DERBY CHAMPAGNE to go one better with Tyler Gaffalione back in the saddle. The last time he got the leg up on this 7yo he was successful and he rode Soglio to nail the selection last time so knows the horse well. That was a big run last time as he probably had to commit sooner than ideal the way the race panned out. It looks strong form as the fourth Donji has already come out and won. I can see him being a warm order come post time. National Honor is probably the main danger having won gamely latest.

Won three of his last four and comes here chasing a hat-trick having coasted home to win by three widening lengths last time; impressive strike rate having won nine times in his career to date; Joel Rosario is in the saddle again and he is 4-4 on the 7yo.
This is a good race so it won’t be easy for TOM’S D’ETAT to complete the hat-trick but at the same time you wouldn’t want to oppose him. He is a progressive animal who certainly knows where the winning line is. Joel Rosario clearly gets on well with him having partnered him four times, winning all of them. He coasted home last time and couldn’t be in better form right now. Mr Money is a big danger having run in the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile when last seen and Improbable is also respected having finished ahead of the latter.
