Race 8 Gold Coast 6.27 Vanna Girl (11/8)
Likeable chestnut filly who has won three of her six starts including two of her last three; checked in the run last time beaten just a length at the line; improving all the time and low draw looks ideal here so has plenty going for her.
Given her run style it can be rather heart in mouth sometimes but weighing everything up VANNA GIRL looks worth chancing to get back to winning ways here. Nothing will be finishing as well as her and she’ll be looking to make it three wins from her last four. She is getting better with every run and is open to further improvement. Mishani Blossom also comes here in form and rates one of the main dangers as she won gamely last time and is also on an upward curve. It looks between the pair with the favourite a confident pick.

Race 7 Kyneton 7.00 Lassiter’s Lode (6/4)
Made the perfect start winning impressively by a few lengths on debut at Ararat over 1100m in January; freshened up since but open to stacks of improvement with that initial experience under his belt and rates a first-class bet here to follow up.
We head to Kyneton on Friday morning for the NB and LASSITER’S LODE impressed enough when winning on debut to follow up here. He looked very professional on his first outing and with further progress should go in again. He is likely to be a warm order come post time. Magnesprit has improved with each run this prep and might be a bit of value to hit the frame on just his second start for Michael Sell. Teddy Mercury and Olympic Lad are also entitled to be thereabouts but it looks a great chance for the jolly to make it 2-2.
