OUR FIRST NOTEBOOK DOWN UNDER GOES IN RACE 2 AT COFFS HARBOUR!

Well backed on debut but inexperience probably cost her finishing second to Agrapart; sure to improve for that initial experience and looks to have been found a good opportunity to open her account.

A winner and a second from our Notebook horses in Australia on Thursday so hopefully we can go one better and bank the double on Friday. CIAO UNO catches the eye at Coffs Harbour and should stamp her class on this field. She ran a cracker on debut and with usual progression will take some holding under Andrew Gibbons. Comfortably the most likely winner here! Stuck With You is an intriguing newcomer but will probably need it. Enterprise Keren could emerge as the main danger if ready to go after a short break.

Race 2 Cranbourne 9.00 Drop The Mic (11/4)

Lightly raced and knocked on the door the last twice, beaten just half a length over shorter here last time; raced without cover the last day too so can probably mark that up; further gains likely and fitter now so strong claims of coming out on top.

I like the chances of DROP THE MIC in Race 2 at Cranbourne for Alisa Hinch and he’s taken to go one better under Daniel Stackhouse. He was only edged out late last time and if he crosses over from a wide draw here will trade very short in running. He has only had five career starts so there should be more in the tank. Art Heiress is a nice looking filly and she caught the eye on debut so should be the main threat to the selection. I fancy the pair to finish 1-2 as Paris Pike has experience but for me is there to be shot at.

Race 8 Coffs Harbour 7.25 Racketeering (3/1)

Despite being hampered early last time this improving 3yo picked up well to run them down at Grafton last time; looks to have turned a corner now so with further improvement a near certainty should be right in the mix here and taken to follow up under Ben Looker.

We head to Coffs Harbour for Friday’s Value Tip Down Under and the improving RACKETEERING looks worth siding with. This race has cut up a bit with the scratchings and while it’s still competitive he looks a good bet to go in again. He is still far from the finished article and impressed last time so looks one to keep on side. Sniperess is probably the one I fear most as she did it nicely at Ballina and had excuses at Tamworth last time. Should do better and might even be worth a saver.
