Progressive colt who won head in chest on return at Lingfield in February; that was a career best so looks on a step upward curve now; earned his shot at better company and should run a big race.
I’m looking forward to seeing MALOTRU again for Marco Botti. He looked hugely promising when slamming rivals at Lingfield and with further progress on the cards looks sure to go close back into Group company now. A’Ali looks the main danger as he has proven himself at a better level than this. He was last seen running at the Breeders’ Cup so will be a threat if fit enough on return. At a bigger price Troubador might be worth covering each way at a price. Likeable type who will run his race.

Newmarket 5.55 Bear Force One (5/2)
Smart type who was stepping forward with every run last season, landing back-to-back wins at Kempton and Newbury before going down narrowly to Entangling at Kempton on final start; trainer does well with horses fresh (£30 profit to £1 stakes).
There should be more to come from BEAR FORCE ONE for Roger Teal and this looks a good starting point. He has won two of his last three and was only beaten half a length when last seen. He is sure to go well fresh and with further improvement might take a bit of beating. I think he’ll be up with the pace too so should get first run on his rivals. Of them Arbalet could step forward as the main one having been gelded since switching to David O’Meara. Kimifive is better than what he showed last time and comes into it too.
