Got better with experience last year finishing with back-to-back wins at Ascot and Doncaster; by Nathaniel so bred to improve with age and a 5lb rise looks perfectly fair given how lightly raced he is; remains unexposed over this trip.
I’m looking forward to seeing Hugo Palmer’s CARAVAN OF HOPE back in action at Wolverhampton on Tuesday night. He recorded a career best on final start over a trip similar to this at Doncaster and with further gains likely as a 4yo he should prove hard to beat. He has a likeable attitude under pressure so won’t mind if it does become a battle up the straight. Australis is in good hands and ran well when last seen over this C&D so is feared most. Lord Halifax will be hoping they go hard to nick a place at a price.

Leopardstown 2.00 Russian Emperor (6/4)
Galileo colt who could really kick on this season; shaped with bags of promise when beaten two lengths on debut at the Curragh and improved on that to get up late and win by a short head at Naas last time; did well to win as plenty went wrong; more to come.
It’s always good to see a horse win when the race doesn’t go to plan and that was exactly what happened with RUSSIAN EMPEROR at Naas. He went left leaving the stalls and bumped a rival costing him key momentum early. He was then forced to switch in the straight when making headway and quickly made up ground to gather in the leader, only prevailing narrowly. He is bred in the purple and is sure to improve now so is one to keep on side. This looks a good starting point and he should make it two wins from three.
