Race 5 Geelong 5.30 Cordilla (11/8)
Nice looking filly who has made a very bright start so far; caught the eye when third on debut and improved on that to open her account at Pakenham in April; good third on return last month when slowly away making up a lot of ground late; more to come.
Sticking with the progressive CORDILLA here for Danny O’Brien and Damien Oliver. She was better for the experience when winning her debut in good style at Pakenham and shaped with real credit again when third last time after a slow start. She has more to offer and should get back to winning ways here. She’s got the inside draw so has plenty going for her. Diaquin probably lacks the class of the favourite but is consistent so should run her race. Most likely to finish second.

Race 3 Gold Coast 3.57 Phat Beats (13/8)
Finished runner-up on both starts to date; well backed on debut but forced to race wide and could never get to the winner; probably committed too soon last time before being run down; can improve again and this looks a good opportunity.
We head to Gold Coast on Friday morning for our Aussie Next Best and PHAT BEATS is expected to justify favouritism here for Darryl Hansen and Dale Smith. He is a useful colt who has run two big races to date and can kick on again now. Managua still hasn’t quite worked out what’s required from him so if the penny drops he will be a danger. Kid Mac has experience so also comes into the reckoning. Hard to see anything else getting involved but Epplause isn’t entirely ruled out despite the wide draw.
