Royal Ascot 3.35 Battaash (4/5)
Contender for the best sprinter in training; blew them away in the Nunthorpe; when things drop right they struggle to land a glove; second to Blue Point last year and should go one better if anywhere near his best.
When BATTAASH is good he is really good and the vibes from Charlie Hills is that he has him right where he wants him. I know he’s never won at Ascot but he has finished runner-up in this race the last two years and with Blue Point retired I see no reason why he won’t go one better now. He is a bundle of energy and hopefully he gets carried into the race before showing that devastating burst of speed. He is definitely racing more professionally now and for me he is my best bet on the card at around 4/5.

Royal Ascot 3.00 Mogul (10/11)
Smart colt by Galileo; not seen to best effect in the Futurity Trophy at Newcastle behind Kameko but highly progressive prior to that and promises to make an even better 3yo now up in trip; hard to get away from.
The switch from Doncaster to Newcastle for the Futurity Trophy wouldn’t have suited MOGUL but he ran creditably in fourth behind Kameko. That horse has since won the Guineas so it’s not exactly a bad piece of form. He can take a big step forward from that now and as his stamina is drawn out we are likely to see what he is truly capable of. This is competitive but if all is well he should win. Stablemate Arthur’s Kingdom might ask the most questions as he looked good last year and has potential going forward too.
