Race 1 Carnarvon 5.55 Danefin (6/5)
Useful type who comes here chasing a four-timer and a tenth career win; back in trip here but can push forward from a low gate and looks to have a major chance of keeping this winning run going; gets on well with Madi Derrick who is on again.
Sticking with the old boy DANEFIN at Carnarvon. As long as the drop back in trip doesn’t inconvenience him too much I can’t see how he’ll be beaten here. He is clearly thriving right now and looks to make it four wins in a row. Kramden is the closest in the betting but he finished 12th of 16 at Belmont and has a bit to prove at present. Obviously a danger but I’d confidently back the selection to see him off. Hard to recommend much else in here but Mythical Trust went close last time and can’t be completely ignored.

Race 6 Townsville 5.34 Brilliant Mind (7/4)
Won his last two at Cairns and hard to oppose in current mood; dictated on penultimate start and then just tracked them through before proving too strong late last time; up in trip again and the hat-trick looks to be on the cards.
Confident BRILLIANT MIND completes the hat-trick here. He has been well punted the last twice and going back up in trip shouldn’t be an issue given his current form. He looks to have these rivals covered so a similar performance should suffice. North Afrika is also chasing three wins in a row and is talented so looks the danger. Planet Warrior is consistent and shouldn’t be far away. Hard to see anything past the top 3 getting involved. Not convinced by Guangzhou following that last run.
