NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) WON ON TUESDAY AND RUNS AT LINGFIELD ON WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON!
Lingfield 4.45 Redemptive (6/4)
Likeable filly who put in a career best to win convincingly at Yarmouth last month, running on strongly from the rear; turned out quickly under a 5lb penalty but should be more to come now; seemed to enjoy coming from off the pace.
Hopefully they go a good clip here as REDEMPTIVE seemed to benefit from more patient tactics when scoring easily at Lingfield the last day. She made smooth headway challenging between rivals before doing all her best work late and I can see a similar plan paying dividends here. There isn’t a massive amount of pace on but that may prompt a couple to push forward who usually wouldn’t so it might actually work in our favour. This lacks strength in depth so hard to pinpoint an exact danger. Perhaps Gilt Edge will step forward and put up the biggest challenge. She needs to find more from somewhere.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) WON ON TUESDAY AND RUNS AT WOLVERHAMPTON ON WEDNESDAY!
Wolverhampton 5.35 Lead Singer (6/4)
Kingman colt who showed promise when fifth on debut at Haydock; built on that to finish third at Kempton in a good race last month, coming further back than the front pair; looks off a lenient mark for handicap debut.
Hard to ignore LEAD SINGER here for John Gosden. This colt by Kingman cost 200,000 guineas and while he has failed to fulfil his potential thus far he goes handicapping off a mark of just 73 and should be a fair bit ahead of that. He is bred to be smart so should prove a cut above these if stepping forward again. Harbour Vision is useful in this grade and made all at Doncaster last time. A 7lb rise makes life tougher against an unexposed rival but he is well drawn so has to be respected as the main threat. Lion Tower may run better than his odds suggest. Could be value to hit the frame.
