NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS AT PONTEFRACT ON MONDAY AS WE LOOK TO START THE WEEK ON A HIGH!
Pontefract 2.20 The Grand Visir (11/8)
Smart son of Frankel who looked a horse going places when winning the Ascot Stakes last year; not kicked on as expected but run some big races in defeat and this extreme test could be just what he needs now.
This will take some getting and while Stag Horn comes here in terrific form I can see him doing too much early and that should set it up nicely for THE GRAND VISIR and Richard Kingscote. We’ve seen in the past he finishes well off a strong pace and this should work out perfectly. He is a smart type and looks to have a class-edge on this field. Lucky Deal won over two miles at Haydock and then ran well when fourth in the Queen Alexandra at Royal Ascot. He was below form in the March Cup last time but could bounce back and is probably the one I fear most to the selection. Fun Mac usually runs well without winning and I can’t see Happy Hollow or Leannes Lady being good enough.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT WINDSOR ON MONDAY AFTERNOON!
Windsor 1.30 Good Listener (6/4)
Mehmas colt who made a bright start finishing third to two useful horses at York on debut; sure to do better now and big chance of going a couple of places better especially if settling early on; keep on side.
I’m not usually overconfident about a horse that’s only run once but GOOD LISTENER really caught the eye on debut and given the front two have gone on to better things he looks to have a massive chance of opening his account now. He was slowly away on debut and then rushed up which set him alight and he probably pulled his chance away. With that experience under this belt now he should be much more streetwise and I’m expecting him to take the beating in this field. Pride Of UK is the closest in the betting and he left his debut run behind when beaten a couple of lengths last time. He almost certainly needs more though to trouble the fav. Faustus could struggle under a penalty.
Daily Double
The Daily Double consists of both the NAP and NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the day to maximise profit. They run at Windsor and Pontefract on Monday afternoon.
