Race 4 Royal Randwick 4.35 Criaderas (10/11)

Improving with every run and back in the winners enclosure over C&D last time; won four of his five starts now and could still be anything; will look to get settled early before picking rivals off one by one in the straight.

Got to be with CRIADERAS to win again for James Cummings. This likeable type has won four of his five starts and is improving all the time. This doesn’t look any tougher than last time and he is hard to oppose in what looks such a good opportunity. I can see him going off shorter than the 10/11 at the time of writing. Royal Celebration has conditions in favour so shouldn’t be easily discounted but the favourite looks to have more potential. Archedemus is open to further improvement and has already won 7 times so has to be feared. May be the one that steps forward to put up the most resistance. Cuba and Ranier are both useful but have their work cutout to win this.

Race 6 Moonee Valley 4.15 Young Werther (5/4)

Justified strong support to make a winning debut at Geelong; that form has worked out notably well since; desperately unlucky when attempting to follow up at Flemington last time where he was stopped in the run; compensation awaits.

The promising YOUNG WERTHER is being targeted at the Derby so I’m expecting him to get back on track here. He is arguably unlucky not to be coming here 2-2 so should take care of this bunch with a clear run. He encountered traffic problems last time so looked a bit hard done by going down just a head at the line. I don’t see anything good enough in here to rival him. Cherry Tortoni had been running to a consistent level before blowing out at Randwick last time. He would be one of the dangers if bouncing back as he has some solid form in the book. Khoekhoe is a horse I like and he did show a good attitude to hold off the selection last time. Expecting that to be reversed though with normal luck.
