NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) WON AGAIN YESTERDAY SO IS NOW ON A HAT-TRICK!
Southwell 3.33 Lord Of The Glen (9/4)
Comes here at the top of his game winning two of his last four at Newcastle over this trip; bumped into a well handicapped horse when beaten narrowly into second last time; obvious chance if taking to the surface.
The NAP is on a hat-trick after Benson won well at Hereford yesterday. We head to Southwell on Tuesday and LORD OF THE GLEN looks the most likely winner here if taking to fibresand. It’s quite remarkable that he is still just a 5yo as it feels like he has been around for a long, long time but he comes here at the top of his game after winning two of his last four and looks worth keeping on side. Oisin Murphy is booked for the ride which is a big plus and I see him as the one to beat. Bluella has scored over C&D in the past and was a good second back from 11 months off at Catterick last week so has to enter calculations. Dark Side Prince is potentially off a lenient mark so is also feared.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT EXETER ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON!
Exeter 2.25 Greaneteen (9/4)
Looked a horse going places when slamming rivals at Fakenham in February to make it 3-3 over fences; good fourth in the Grand Annual on final start probably too keen for his own good; more to come and one to keep firmly on side.
The Haldon Gold cup is never an easy race to win but I’m looking forward to seeing GREANETEEN out again for Paul Nicholls and if he has the potential I think he does then he wants to be winning here. Harry Cobden was hugely impressed with him after that Fakenham win so it was no surprise to see him acquit himself well in the Grand Annual at the Festival which can be a ferocious race. He is still learning and almost certainly has further improvement to come. Global Citizen is an honest front-running type who was better than the bare result in the Arkle so looks the danger. Not That Fuisse has headgear fitted now and is also a good horse so shouldn’t be underestimated.
Daily Double
The Daily Double consists of both the NAP and NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the day to maximise profit. They run at Exeter and Southwell on Tuesday afternoon.
