Sunday’s Best Bets
A really quiet day on Sunday with just the 3 meetings. Racing from Lingfield, Carlisle and Southwell and we’re hopeful we’ve dug out a few winners for you.
Scroll down to find our most confident selections (NAP & NB) PLUS race-by-race picks for every race across all THREE meetings.
NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS OVER JUMPS AT SOUTHWELL ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON!
Southwell 3.00 Rocheston (6/4)
French recruit who needed the run when down the field on debut for this yard at Kelso in October; firmly back on track when finding plenty for pressure to win at Chepstow last month; sure to keep progressing and looks the one to beat.
It wasn’t pretty but ROCHESTON did dig in bravely to win at Chepstow last month. He showed a real likeable attitude on that occasion and given he is far from the finished article there is good reason to expect another big jolt of improvement. He is strengthening up all the time and this looks a good bit of placement as he bids to follow up. Ocean Drifter was an expensive purchase and he also ran on gamely to land the odds at Fontwell last month. He needs to step forward again from that to give the selection a race but he has potential to do better so is feared. The pair should battle this one out. Beauport is well bred and did show some promise when fourth in a bumper at Fontwell.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT CARLISLE ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON!
Carlisle 12.35 Gold Runner (3/1)
Useful mare who caught the eye without threatening on return from 19 months off when down the field here in October; improved nicely to chase home a useful prospect at Ayr last time; should go close on chase debut.
We head to Carlisle for our second best bet of the dy on Sunday and GOLD RUNNER should go well on chase debut. She chased home Those Tiger Feet over hurdles at Ayr last month and with further improvement to come now tackling the larger obstacles she could prove the answer here. It’s not a great race and that’s highlighted by Bingo D’Olivate being the closest in the betting. He shaped as though needing the run on return last time but needs to show more back over fences. Wise Coco could be the main danger. This mare by Shirocco failed to fire at Musselburgh but if bouncing back with headgear refitted she should run a big race. Still think the selection will have too much.
Daily Double
The Daily Double consists of both the NAP and NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the day to maximise profit. They run at Carlisle and Southwell on Sunday afternoon.
