Thursday’s Best Bets
THE NAP IS CHASING FOUR IN A ROW! The best bet runs at Punchestown on New Year’s Eve. We also have racing from Warwick, Lingfield and Newcastle to send us into 2021!
Scroll down to find our most confident selections (NAP & NB) PLUS race-by-race picks for every race across all FOUR meetings.
NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) LANDED AGAIN YESTERDAY AND RUNS AT PUNCHESTOWN ON THURSDAY!
Punchestown 2.05 Bachasson (11/8)
High-class chaser who was foot-perfect jumping Cilaos Emery into submission when last seen in the Clonmel Oil Chase; won this 2 years ago and looks the one to beat back over hurdles; yard going great guns.
The NAP won again yesterday as Broken Quest was joined on the line to dead-heat at Taunton. We are chasing a FOUR-TIMER on New Year’s Eve as we head over to Ireland. BACHASSON is back over hurdles but looks to have a major shout in a race he won 2 years ago. He is clearly a happy horse right now and with the yard firing on all fronts he looks a great bet to come out on top. Darasso was beaten a long way by Chacun Pour Soi last time but will appreciate going back over hurdles and looks the main danger to the selection. City Island was last seen pulling up in the Stayers’ Hurdle at Cheltenham so comes here with a bit to prove.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT LINGFIELD ON THURSDAY AFTERNOON!
Lingfield 2.00 Fox Duty Free (11/8)
Thrived since joining his new trainer making it 2-2 over 7f here last time, running on well at the finish; step back up to a mile can help bring about further improvement and looks the one they all have to beat here.
Chasing a hat-trick it’s hard to look past the progressive FOX DUTY FREE for Ralph Beckett. This son of Kingman was impressive again last time and with further gains a distinct possibility now stepping back up to a mile he should prove a tough nut to crack. He’s going to race prominently here so as long as he settles I think he’ll win this. Via Serendipity is obviously a smart horse on his day and he was far from disgraced when third to Kinross at Kempton last time. That form entitles him to plenty of respect but I think the favourite can progress past him. Crownthorpe rarely runs a bad race and again hit the frame at Newcastle last time so shouldn’t be far away either.
Daily Double
The Daily Double consists of both the NAP and NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the day to maximise profit. They run at Lingfield and Punchestown on Thursday afternoon.
