Race 5 Sunshine Coast 4.35 King Klaus (10/11)

Smart type who was fresh up after four months when sent off as favourite here last month winning convincingly; won 5 of his 8 starts and still open to further progress so hard to oppose here; should win again.

We head to Sunshine Coast in the early hours of Sunday morning for our best bet Down Under and the progressive KING KLAUS should win again for Gary Clem and Jason Taylor. He has an impressive strike rate and might always be dominating here from a low gate. He impressed last time and a similar performance should be enough even though this does look another step up. Valario is a good looking sort and he also brings winning form to the table. He is the clear danger off the back of that last run as he looks useful himself with 7 wins from 18 starts. Lacks the potential of the favourite but still worth plenty of respect. Gypsy Toff needs to bounce back but she is talented if things go her way.

Race 7 Cowra 5.40 Royal Thunder (5/4)

Useful sort who justified favouritism at Canberra last month, well on top to win by a length at the line; drops back from 2000m but likely to travel strongly in behind the leaders before looking to pounce; big chance.

With 7 wins to his name ROYAL THUNDER should have too much for the opposition in Race 7 at Cowra overnight. He is a talented sort and showed that when getting back in the winners enclosure at Canberra last time. He needs to run to that sort of level again to win this but looks well placed and the drop back in trip won’t faze him as he already has a win and a second over this distance. Upper House has two wins from his last three and 9 overall so is definitely a threat to the favourite. Universal Thief is largely exposed but also brings winning form to the table so shouldn’t be easily overlooked. I just think the favourite is an obvious pick on form and should justify likely short odds come post time.
