Promising colt who is yet to get off the mark but continues to run to a very good level in defeat and this looks a great opportunity for him to make the breakthrough; will appreciate the drop back to 6f and worth sticking with.
The Hulk made a bright start showing a good attitude to win over C&D on debut earlier this month. That didn’t look overly competitive though and I’m quite confident he’ll need a fair bit more to beat TOUCHWOOD. The latter sets a good standard for this race and the drop back to 6f looks firmly in his favour. He has bumped into some nice horses recently and this looks his time to shine. Mummy Bear should leave her debut effort behind where she was slowly away. She’d actually be the one I’d fear most rather than the second fav. Bated Breath colt Breath Of Sun is the most interesting newcomer but he might just need the run given he has already had a wind op.

Lingfield 1.40 Pirate King (2/1)
3-time C&D winner who improved in defeat when going down just a length to an unexposed rival over C&D last month; a lot of his form stacks up so if he builds on that latest effort again he is going to have every chance.
Golden Horn filly Myseven is likely to be popular here having won 4 from her last 5 but I think she’s going to have to step forward again to get the better of PIRATE KING. The latter impressed in defeat last time only finding Al Zaraqaan too strong in the closing stages. That looks a strong handicap and this 3-time C&D winner still looks to be on the up himself. It’s not just a 2-horse race though as Furzig also put in his best run on the figures to date when winning over C&D last time. He certainly isn’t ruled out but I do think the selection will have him covered if all goes to plan. Pretending did well in Italy but looks out his depth on UK/stable debut for Marco Botti.
