Race 3 Armidale 3.53 Only Need Time (1/1)

Good looking filly who caught the eye running on from midfield to finish runner-up at Quirindi earlier this month; very much learning on the job and should be hard to beat now from the inside barrier.

This looks a great opportunity for the improving ONLY NEED TIME to make the breakthrough. This chestnut filly is getting better with every start and should be hitting peak now. She went down less than two lengths last time and will be fitter now. She has the inside barrier draw and gets the handy 2kg claim today. Hard to pinpoint an exact danger as they are much of a muchness in behind but Aussie Mythology should be thereabouts if bouncing back. Nana Neddy has a low draw and like the selection will be fitter so could hit the frame. Cosmic Bullet is most likely to set the tempo but that should set it up nicely for the favourite to come through.

Race 1 Goulburn 3.00 Rothenburg (6/4)

Likeable type who was beaten less than a length on return at Canberra; this longer trip suits and he is expected to do better now from a good draw; looks a cut above these on all known form and should justify favouritism.

We head to Goulburn for our second best bet Down Under overnight and ROTHENBURG looks the one to be on in the opener. He only has 2 wins from 19 starts but often runs well and this looks one of his easier opportunities to date so it will be disappointing if he doesn’t go close under Blaike Mcdougall. Leg Work is back from a break so might need the run. He is a useful sort with 3 wins from 10 starts but the favourite has the fitness edge on this occasion and is preferred. Clearly Regal has been freshened up and might be the bigger danger. He has some good form and is probably capable of better too so should give the selection a race. Zelago needs to find more to get involved.
