Race 7 Delta Downs 9.39 Shanghai Mike (11/10)

Useful type who won convincingly when last seen in this grade on penultimate start; not disgraced in tougher company last time and every chance he can improve again back from a break; the one to beat.

The NAP is back in form Stateside and we head into a new week chasing a HAT-TRICK. We head to Delta Downs and SHANGHAI MIKE looks the one to beat in Race 7 on the card. This horse hasn’t been seen for 157 days but he is open to further progress and the way he won on his penultimate start in this grade was impressive enough so if bouncing back he will take all the beating. Baptism was beaten just a head at this level last time and he looks the main danger to the favourite. Young Hendrick ran too bad to be true last time and he has been scratched by the vet since. Comes here with a bit to prove for me but obviously if he brings his best form to the table he would also have to be respected.

Race 8 Mahoning Valley 9.02 No Treble (6/5)

Lightly raced sort who showed progressive form to open his account over 5f here earlier this month; every reason to believe he’ll build on that now and if he does he should have too much for these; big shout.

We head to Mahoning Valley on Monday night for our second best bet Stateside and NO TREBLE is strongly fancied to brush rivals aside in the lucky last. He caught the eye when second over track and trip last month and built on that to make the breakthrough last time. If he runs to that sort of level again then quite simply he takes this contest out. He likes to dictate so expect him to be positive and push forward. Strictly on the clock he can run out a convincing winner again. Truly Obligato won nicely over track and trip on a sloppy surface in November but has flopped twice since. If he bounces back to his best form he looks to be the main danger to the favourite. Disciple is also considered.
