Race 5 Pinjarra 7.20 Holy Enchantment (11/8)

Ran an encouraging race back from four months off the track to finish third here over shorter earlier this month; won second up last campaign so should strip a lot fitter now; scope to improve again and leading claims.

The Aussie NAP went in again overnight so we have now landed 11 WINNERS FROM OUR LAST 12 SELECTIONS! We head to Pinjarra early on Sunday morning and HOLY ENCHANTMENT looks a good bet to justify favouritism. He caught the eye on return and striked me as a horse that should strip fitter for the run. This isn’t overly competitive so if he does step forward he will go very close. I’m surprised he isn’t an odds-on shot to be honest but he’ll probably get backed overnight so it might be worth taking the early price. Bumper Humper is a nice filly in the making with 2 wins from 10 starts. She should keep getting better as is a live danger to the selection. Hard to recommend much else.

Race 5 Ballarat 4.45 Dundirtcheap (11/8)

Promising sort who created a big impression winning on debut at Yarra Valley earlier this month; got quite far back but ran on strongly and did it with plenty to spare; should take another step forward so can remain unbeaten.

The Aussie NB also won overnight and we head to Ballarat in the early hours of Sunday morning as we eye up another winner. DUNDIRTCHEAP made a perfect start winning on debut and looks well placed to make it 2-2. They should go a good clip here and that will suit him as he looks to rattle home late on. St Joeys is the obvious threat but he does have a bit to prove off recent efforts. If he is back to his best then he should give the favourite something to think about at least. Major Gowen has been bumping into some decent horses and also has to be respected in opposition. I can see it setting up for the favourite though and that sways my selection towards him strongly here.
