Likeable type who showed a great attitude to knuckle down bravely under pressure and get up to win by a neck over track and trip last month; ticks plenty of boxes again and should be hard to hold off late on.

Tough evening last night Stateside so hopefully we can bounce back this evening. We head to Golden Gate and SHOT OF A LIFETIME looks a good bet to justify favouritism. He stayed on strongly to get up close home over C&D last time and a similar performance should be enough to see this bunch off. Nowhere Man was third on that occasion and I see no reason why that form will be reversed this evening. If anything the selection was value for more given how the race panned out and if they go hard tonight that will suit as he looks to pick them up late. Unlawful Act needs more on what we’ve seen recently but he shouldn’t be underestimated as some of his previous form does stack up.

Race 6 Santa Anita 11.14 Becca Taylor (15/8)

Promising filly who is 2-2 after finishing well to win on debut before improving to strike on turf last month; a lot to like about the way she drew clear in the closing stages last time; can kick on again and hat-trick beckons.

I’m surprised BECCA TAYLOR isn’t a bit shorter in the betting here as she looks the most likely winner to me. She has won both starts to date and looks really promising. She is versatile as to how this might be run and that could turn out to be a huge positive. Maddie’s Mojito bolted up last time but that didn’t look much of a race to me and she’s going to need more if she is to follow up. I think the selection looks to have the greater potential going forward so she gets my vote. Swift Nonni made a bright start winning on debut but was poor switched to dirt behind the selection last time. A few question marks after that but back on this surface she might bounce back so isn’t entirely ruled out.
