Race 6 Delta Downs 9.11 Academy Bay (11/8)
Useful type who was back to near his best when beaten just half a length over the extended 6f here in December; drop back in trip will help and this looks easier so he has an obvious chance.
He isn’t getting any younger but even so ACADEMY BAY should have the beating of these. He ran a cracker when denied just half a length over the extended 6f and given this looks a bit easier coupled with the drop back in trip helping him he should be hard to beat. Oneholylion is probably the main danger on form but he was well held when second last time so needs more off the back of that to trouble the favourite. Also there doesn’t look a great amount of pace on and I think he needs a target to aim at to be seen to best effect. Tin Roof Rusted might be a bit overpriced but only in terms of a place as again on what we’ve seen recently he needs much more to challenge the favourite.

Race 3 Turf Paradise 8.50 Midnight In Maui (2/1)
Likeable type who comes here in terrific form having won his last three on the bounce; great attitude to prevail by a neck last time; this probably tougher but lightly raced so should be more to come.
I think you’d be foolish to oppose MIDNIGHT IN MAUI here even up in grade. He made it 3 in a row last time winning gamely over the extended 6f and if he is in the same form tonight he should take care of these and visit the winners enclosure again. Mon Camo has been keeping good company so shouldn’t be dismissed lightly but he hasn’t run well for a while so there are more questions than answers right now. Maricopa County is probably the danger. He wasn’t beaten far last time and is open to further improvement so should give the selection a race. Hook Em hasn’t been seen for 1962 days so it’s a guessing game with him if he retains any ability now aged 10. More needed anyhow.
