THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 7 AT CAIRNS ON TUESDAY MORNING!
Race 7 Cairns 7.55 Nice Retort (5/4)
Useful type who showed a good attitude to win by a nose at Townsville in December beating a good yardstick in Lassiter’s Lode; excuses last time; early speed should get these in trouble with a low gate and a 3kg claim all in his favour.
We head to Cairns on Tuesday morning as we look to get the Aussie NAP back firing and NICE RETORT looks a good bet to justify favouritism in the lucky last for Sharlee Hoffman and Mr Zac Lloyd. I think you can forgive him that last run and his win prior to that stacks up. He has plenty in favour here with a low draw and a handy claim so he should push forward aggressively and look to burn these off. Last time out winner Golden Charles looks the danger. He has won here and over this trip so they are two positives. I can see him fighting it out with the favourite. Let’s Conquer is a useful individual too but maybe a bit vulnerable for win purposes but shouldn’t be all that far away.

THE AUSSIE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 8 AT TAMWORTH!
Race 8 Tamworth 6.30 Stellar Blaze (13/8)
Likeable mare who did well to go as close as she did last time after an awkward start; really found her stride late and was thundering home; wide draw here but if things drop for her she should win this.
I know just 1 win from 18 doesn’t inspire confidence but this looks winnable so I’m expecting STELLAR BLAZE to be hard to hold out late. She will be rattling home and as long as a wide draw doesn’t put pay to her chances she should pick these up. Mock Song brings winning form to the table and has now won 5 times from 30 starts which is pretty decent especially in a race of this nature. She is respected as the main threat to the selection. Nashian needs to bounce back on return but she has to be feared as well so it wouldn’t surprise me if she got involved. Bar those mentioned I’m struggling to put anything else in the mix as it lacks strength in depth in all honesty.
