Race 2 Albany 6.37 Classic Jack (1/1)
Good looking sort who notched up a fourth career victory over a similar trip to this last month; ran on strongly from midfield and was well on top at the line; this doesn’t look any tougher so leading claims again.
The Aussie NAP won again overnight so we are now chasing a HAT-TRICK OF WINNERS on Thursday morning. CLASSIC JACK impressed last time winding up strongly from off the pace to win well. If he repeats that sort of performance here it should be good enough to go in again. He is 2 from 5 over this trip so you could argue it’s his optimum. He should be as fit as a fiddle now and he won’t have many excuses. War Ksar is a veteran who has had a decent career with 9 wins from 68 starts. He has just 4 wins from 14 attempts over this trip though and needs it to drop perfectly to have a big say. Western King might be a bigger threat. He struck on penultimate start and got too far back last time.

Race 1 Port Macquarie 2.15 Oslo (1/1)
Bred to be pretty useful and made a big impression winning on return at Scone last month; excuses in better company last time and fitter now so good reason to think he’ll bounce back and take this.
This looks a good opportunity for OSLO to get back to winning ways. He won well on return before running below par last time. If he bounces back then he should have too much class for these and quickly get back to winning ways. He still has potential going forward so connections will be hopeful you’d imagine. Lord John Grey was slightly disappointing on final start last term but has been given time since and it will be interesting to see how he fares on return. Could well end up being the biggest danger to the selection. Midnight Magic caught the eye on return and she looks like she’s improving now too so she’d enter calculations if building on that.
