THE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS OVER JUMPS AT LUDLOW ON THURSDAY AFTERNOON!
Ludlow 12.30 Qualismart (6/5)
Created a big impression winning easily on debut at Market Rasen; way too keen in a good race at Haydock last time; given time since and hood should help him settle; still has plenty of potential.
This is a good race and one that should provide a few pointers to the future but the one I can’t get away from is QUALISMART for Harry Whittington. This horse put a useful yardstick in Gunsight Ridge firmly in his place on debut over hurdles before being sent off joint favourite at Haydock but disappointing. He was just too keen that day and pulled his chance away. The form of that race has worked out well since though with the winner Adrimel banking a Grade 2 at Warwick and the second Grumpy Charley completing a hat-trick lowering the colours of some good horses in the process. If he settles better with the hood applied I can see him getting firmly back on track. Quinta Do Mar is feared most.

Chelmsford 5.20 Pholas (2/1)
Progressive filly who has won 2 of her last 4 starts; really impressed on penultimate start over this trip at Newcastle and just found things happening too quickly at Kempton last time; back to a mile can see her win again.
George Boughey continues to impress and the yard are now operating at a 28% strike rate in the past fortnight. He has a good chance of another winner on Thursday as we head to Chelmsford for our second best bet. The likeable PHOLAS looks a filly who is still improving and back up to a mile she can defy the handicappers grip again. She just bumped into one last time back down to 7f and this looks much more her trip. She was impressive over a mile at Newcastle and should be finishing best of all here. Hopefully Luna Wish makes this a good test as that will set it up for the selection who is likely to be held up again. Hold Fast won well last time but a 6lb rise looks a bit harsh.
