THE US NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 8 AT GULFSTREAM ON FRIDAY NIGHT!
Race 8 Gulfstream 9.44 Sir Ollie (1/1)
Improving colt who made a perfect start winning on debut over 6f here in December, showing a good attitude to peg back the leader and get there close home; big run in defeat latest; hard to oppose with further progress to come.
It’s been tough Stateside lately so hopefully we can get back on track tonight. SIR OLLIE showed plenty of ability to win on debut and probably improved in defeat last time as he just bumped into one in Irish Honor and the pair were nicely clear from the rest. With scope to kick on again he can make it 2 wins from 3 starts tonight. Gatsby has more experience than the selection but is yet to win since debut so needs more to beat the favourite here, who is likely to improve past him. Ampersand was behind the latter last time so will need to step forward from that to land a blow. Shoo Shine has won 2 of his last 3 but this is tougher. No surprise if he improves though and could be the danger.

Race 8 Golden Gate Fields 12.31 Union Dance (7/4)
Progressive sort who has won 2 of his last 4 and found plenty under pressure last time to assert in good style at the finish; step up in trip can help him improve again and looks well placed to follow up; one to keep on side.
With the promise of more to come UNION DANCE can win again. He really caught the eye dotting up on dirt in December and ran well despite the rider dropping his whip on penultimate start. Built on that to get back to winning ways last time and looks capable of better yet. This is fairly competitive but for me he has leading claims and should be a bit shorter than the 7/4 on offer right now. It will be interesting to see where the pace comes from but he certainly doesn’t lack speed so it wouldn’t surprise me to see him race prominently and get first crack at them. He Be Mojo Risin improved to win well last time and while this is tougher he might be a bit overpriced to run into the frame.
