NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 2 AT WAGGA ON TUESDAY MORNING!
Race 2 Wagga 3.45 Port Douglas (10/11)
Promising sort who has knocked loudly on the door the last twice and went down the narrowest of margins last time, beaten just a nose here; can improve again up in trip and looks the one they all have to beat.
Not much pace on here so I’m expecting PORT DOUGLAS to push forward and try and burn all these off. He steps back up to 1600m and that should suit under positive tactics. He was only beaten a nose last time and won’t need much more to open his account. He has the strongest form claims and looks to have the most potential in the field so don’t expect to get much of a price. Grey Mantra has shown ability and will be winding up strongly so is respected as the biggest danger. Bourbon Street has only raced twice so is open to improvement but she’s going to need to step forward plenty to win this. I can see her running well without winning. Hard to see anything else getting involved.

Race 3 Ballarat 3.30 Kasami (1/1)
Likeable filly who really caught the eye on debut running on strongly from off the pace when beaten less than a length into second; showed ability again back from a break to finish runner-up at Warrnambool; fitter now and hard to oppose.
Eyes For Ash looks the pace angle in here and while he looks a nice horse himself I think he’ll set things up for KASAMI here. The latter has more experience to draw on and should have too much in the closing stages especially if she has a target to close down. Euphegenia is back from an 8-month break and she also has to be considered. I think the front two are a bit ahead of her at this stage though so she might need the run especially returning from an absence. Winter In Paris hasn’t been seen to best effect and she is another one not to entirely rule out. It’s quite a good race in terms of with an eye to the future as it should produce quite a few winners going forward.
