THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 6 AT DOOMBEN ON WEDNESDAY MORNING!
Race 6 Doomben 6.01 The First Of May (6/4)
Improving mare who comes here chasing a hat-trick after winning easily at Randwick last time; freshened up since and well weighted so expected to be tough to hold; most likely winner in this field.
With both See It Thru and even more so Blue Odyssey now scratched this looks a great opportunity on paper for FIRST OF MAY to bring up the hat-trick. She is a fast mare who is clearly on the up right now. If she steps forward again she should make it 3 in a row on debut for the Edmonds yard. She won a Gold Coast trial so should be spot on and as long as the ground doesn’t get too holding she is expected to have too much for them. Le Palmier has 4 wins from 15 starts and likes this trip so has to be feared. Not seen for four months though so while he is respected he might need the run. Gideons is unexposed and won at Ipswich but wasn’t so good last time. Did blunder the start and race wide.

Race 4 Sandown 5.50 Mystery Shot (7/4)
Recent form is hard to fault and ran on strongly from off the pace to prevail by a neck here over 1600m earlier this month; 4 wins from 5 starts over this trip and 1-1 at this track so hard to oppose with the promise of more to come.
With 6 wins from 8 starts MYSTERY SHOT is hard to oppose again. He is a smart horse who has the strongest form in the book here and showed a great attitude to peg them back last time. He is a cut above these for me and should go on to better things in time. Legionnaire will be fitter now but just 1 win from 13 starts doesn’t exactly inspire confidence so he needs to do much more to challenge these. Shandy is a bigger danger I think as she looked firmly on the up before disappointing at Caulfield but that was a strong race so put away since she could resume her progression now. She’s the one I expect to put it up to the favourite and I fancy them to finish the 1-2 here.
