THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 5 AT PORT MACQUARIE ON SATURDAY!

Race 5 Port Macquarie 6.11 Tawfiq Lass (10/11)

Promising filly who ran an eye-catching race when third on debut at Taree in October; quickly improved on that to win comfortably at Kempsey in November; two solid trials to put her spot on and hard to oppose with the claim.

There should be plenty more to come from the progressive TAWFIQ LASS and she is taken to make a winning return. She should be fit from a couple of trials and gets the 2kg claim so is hard to pick holes in. I don’t see her far away from the speed with Charlie’s Law, Lobban Leroy and Dawntillarvi all likely to push forward. She should get a good trail into the race before proving too strong. It might be worth taking the early prices as I don’t see 10/11 lasting too long. Stunning Mosa has won just once from eight attempts and is second in the betting so that shows you the quality of the opposition. Stormy Pluck has some decent form and might emerge as the main threat to the selection.

Race 7 Ascot 9.05 Big Bada Boom (6/4)

Likeable type who made it five in a row here in February winning over C&D; 5 wins from 7 starts overall now and still capable of further improvement; should push forward and looks hard to oppose on what we’ve seen so far.

The NB won again overnight so we’re now chasing a HAT-TRICK on Saturday morning. We head to Ascot where the thriving BIG BADA BOOM looks poised to strike again. I have this a two-horse race on paper and if he manages to bag the rail he should always be holding off No Apology. The latter won by a nose here last time and did well to prevail having been crowded. Like the selection he looks capable of better so is feared most. Kerman Rock is just one win from ten attempts but hasn’t been running badly so should be thereabouts perhaps without being good enough to win. Bonneville Black is better than what he showed on return so expect him to step forward. Value to run into a place?
