NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) WON YESTERDAY AND RUNS AT THE CURRAGH ON SATURDAY!
Curragh 3.10 Broome (5/6)
Smart colt who looked back to his best winning impressively on return at Naas last month; holds a lot of these on that form and given he is open to improvement off the back of that he should be staying on strongest.
Derby fourth BROOME is hard to get away from here as he looks to back up that Naas win. That was his first start since running no sort of race at Ascot on Champions Day and he is entitled to tighten up for it. If he improves he should just go and win. I think Ryan Moore will keep things simple on him and just track the pace through before sending him for home. He hit the front 2f out last time and with stamina proven he never looked in danger. It wouldn’t surprise me if he did something similar here. Bowerman has always had that bit of class about him and he capped off a profitable campaign last season with a win at Dundalk. Might be best of the rest but hard to see him beating the favourite.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS ON THE FLAT AT THIRSK ON SATURDAY!
Thirsk 1.40 Throne Hall (11/10)
Created a big impression staying on strongly to make a winning return at Doncaster last month; step up in trip only going to see him improve further and a 9lb rise doesn’t look enough to anchor him; hard to oppose.
This looks all about THRONE HALL for Kevin Ryan. This son of Kingman is making great strides now and with further progress on the cards going up 2f in trip he can win again and make it 3 from his last 4. The handicapper hasn’t missed him raising him 9lb but he looks firmly on the upgrade so it’s understandable. He is 11/10 at the time of writing but I can see him being even shorter come post time as I don’t think there’s many chinks in his armour. Golden Pass is a nice enough filly who should be open to improvement this term but this is a big ask on return. Al Madhar goes well fresh so it wouldn’t surprise me if he bounces back to chase the favourite home. Jeremiah is quirky but chance on a going day.
