NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) WAS BACK TO WINNING WAYS YESTERDAY AND RUNS AT FAKENHAM ON TUESDAY!
Fakenham 3.20 Tossapenny (11/10)
Promising type who finished runner-up on first three starts over hurdles; clearly not been the easiest to train given how lightly raced he is but retained ability finishing a good third at Hereford following mammoth layoff; can do better so big chance.
The NAP was back to winning ways yesterday as Will Carver bolted up at Kempton. We stay over hurdles on Tuesday as we head to Fakenham. I thought TOSSAPENNY ran a cracker back from 844 days off the track to finish third at Hereford. He is sure to improve from that and if he does he looks to have an obvious chance of opening his account. He should be much better than this lot so it will be disappointing if he can’t make the most of a good opportunity. Bucko’s Boy fell when last seen at Plumpton and before that he unseated so he needs to prove he can put in a clear round before he can be considered a danger. Dancing Doris is interesting and might be the one to chase the selection home.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS ON THE AW AT LINGFIELD ON TUESDAY!
Lingfield 1.30 Rebel Territory (13/8)
Improving sort who looked to need the experience when down the field on debut at Kempton; improved to finish third in a race that has worked out notably well since; more to come so big chance of getting his head in front now.
He might have been sent off at 100/1 but REBEL TERRITORY ran a cracker to finish third to Mohaafeth over C&D last time. That horse has since won his next two including a Listed race at Newmarket at the weekend. He looks a very exciting colt so the fact the selection got within 2 and a quarter lengths of him was a big effort. He is open to further improvement and is readily preferred to Beau Jardine. The latter did make a bright start winning on debut but that was in testing ground and he might just find things happening too quickly here. For me he needs to improve to trouble the selection. Jawhary is interesting having cost 140,000 guineas so I wouldn’t want to see too much support.
