WHAT A NIGHT AHEAD STATESIDE! It’s the Preakness Stakes from Pimlico PLUS racing from Gulfstream, Churchill Downs, Belmont Park, Santa Anita and Golden Gate Fields.

THE US NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 9 AT PIMLICO ON SATURDAY NIGHT!

Race 9 Pimlico 8.25 Chub Wagon (5/4)

Exciting filly who hasn’t put a hoof wrong so far winning all 5 starts convincingly; career best up to this level last time, powering clear; more to come and she looks one to keep firmly on side; could be anything.

This is a cracking race but CHUB WAGON has to be the selection. This unbeaten filly is going from strength to strength and with more to come she is a confident tip to make it a perfect 6 from 6. She really impressed up to this level last time, striking the front out the gate and galloping rivals into submission. Similar tactics are likely to be adopted here and I don’t see anything good enough to peg her back. French Empire has won her last 4 so has to be respected but the selection will get first run off the front so she is going to need to be at her very best to have any chance of getting near. Call On Mischief has been running to a consistent level and might be a bit of value to finish third.

Race 13 Pimlico 11.47 Medina Spirit (2/1)

Promising colt who won the Kentucky Derby but was subsequently disqualified; remains open to further improvement and if he backs up that last performance he should prove hard to beat for a trainer in the headlines right now.

Concert Tour won his first 3 starts before finishing third to Super Stock and Caddo River at Oaklawn. He can do better yet so is feared but Kentucky Derby winner MEDINA SPIRIT looks to have the edge. Bob Baffert is in the news for all the wrong reasons right now but that shouldn’t stop us putting forward what looks the best horse in the race. He had Midnight Bourbon readily held and looks set to confirm that form. He is best under aggressive tactics and I think he’ll put them all to the sword again. Crowded Trade has shown good form in 3 starts to date and if improving looks the value to hit the frame. Rombauer was third to Essential Quality last time and is another to consider.
