Race 5 Bordertown 6.35 Exalted Beast (5/4)

Won head in chest at Murray Bridge earlier this month; 4 wins from 12 starts now and 2 of those wins coming over this trip; won 3 of his last 5 and looks to have found another good opportunity; keep safe.

The Aussie NAP was back to winning ways overnight and we head to Bordertown on Wednesday as we look to follow up. EXALTED BEAST is a horse at the top of his game right now and he would only have to repeat that last run to go in again here. After just 12 starts he promises to do better again so is hard to oppose. San Remo has 6 wins on the board but is a lot more exposed than the selection. He should give a good account but I fancy Exalted Beast to improve past him. Exalted Ambition ran well back from a long absence on return and if stripping fitter for that looks a live contender to run into a place. Frankel Star has some good form in the book and completes the shortlist.

Race 6 Ipswich 6.28 Fortified (15/8)

Likeable type who improved again despite being slowly away to win at Eagle Farm earlier this month; open to further improvement after just 5 starts and looks one to keep on side; should get a good target to aim at.

Nothinsweetaboutme is likely to push forward but she might get taken on for the lead by Hudoo Vudoo and if she does that could work out perfectly for the progressive FORTIFIED. He ran on strongly to win by a head at Eagle Farm last time and given he was slowly away that was a really encouraging performance. He looks the type to do better again and if there is a good honest gallop to aim at I think he’ll be finishing best of all. Mt Mort Shark has won his only start at this track so has to enter calculations too. Probably lacks the potential of the front pair but should give a good account at a bigger price. Hard to see anything else really having the credentials to get involved.
