Race 8 Indiana Grand 11.02 Double Tuff (4/5)

Made it 4 wins from his last 5 and brought up the hat-trick over track and trip when last seen in October; hard to oppose if returning in similar form and should prove too good for this field; obvious chance.

The four-timer beckons for DOUBLE TUFF at Indiana Grand tonight. This horse was in flying form when last seen and if returning at that sort of level he will take a lot of beating again tonight. Thatswhatithought, Sky Judge and Maters N Taters all have the potential to push forward and if they do that would be an ideal scenario for the selection as I just expect him to track that early speed through before pouncing in the closing stages. I’m not sure there’s anything good enough in here to cope with his finishing kick if things go to plan. Thatswhatithought is potentially dangerous granted a soft lead but we know he is going to get taken on here which is far from ideal for him.

Stretched away from the opposition to win by 9 widening lengths over a mile on dirt here last month; lightly raced on turf so open to further improvement and looks to have a big chance of following up tonight.

We head to Belterra Park tonight for our second best bet Stateside and BLESS THE KITTEN looks the one to side with in Race 5. He has been progressing gradually but took a big step forward to blow them away last time. If he can transfer that form to turf here which I see no reason why he won’t then he can back that up and win again. This trip clearly suits him well and under likely positive tactics he should go through the gears and burn them off. Valycove ran on when it was all over last time to finish second and has been knocking on the door so looks one of the more likely dangers. Volubile has some decent form on turf and also has to be respected as has been running to a consistent level recently.
