NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS OVER AT NEWBURY ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON!
Newbury 6.00 Wild Beauty (6/5)
Frankel filly who needed the experience when down the field on debut at Ascot; quickly improved to win convincingly at Haydock last month; sure to do better and extra furlong can unlock further improvement here.
This could throw up some nice types but perhaps none more so than WILD BEAUTY for Charlie Appleby. This is tougher under a penalty but she can improve going up to 7f now and she was well on top in the closing stages last time. She should be sharper again and is hard to oppose given the potential she brings to the table. River Pride took a step forward when denied a short head at Doncaster and she is the most obvious danger to the favourite. Almanzor Noonie is the most interesting debutant being a half-sister to Elusive Kate. She is entitled to need this though and could be one to watch going forward so it will be interesting to see how she runs.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT BEVERLEY ON TUESDAY!
Beverley 1.15 Mr Coalville (7/4)
Good looking colt by Cotai Glory; penny dropped late on debut and then he probably bumped into a horse with considerable potential over C&D last time; improving all the time and plenty of scope so gets a confident vote.
We head to Beverley on Tuesday afternoon for our second best bet and MR COALVILLE looks poised to open his account. He was running a big race when Adam McNamara got injured at Beverley but even so he bumped into a decent prospect of George Boughey’s in Uncs. The field was well strung out in behind so it was a big step forward all things considered. He can improve again and if he does he should have too much for this field. Cable Bay colt Subjective Value makes his debut for Mark Johnston and looks interesting. I wouldn’t want to see too much support for him. Similar comments apply to Slade Power colt Power Of Beauty who is related to several winners.
