NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) WON YESTERDAY AND RUNS AT CHELMSFORD THIS AFTERNOON!
Chelmsford 2.17 Arousing (6/5)
Kodiac filly who has won 2 of her 3 starts; workmanlike at Lingfield last time but good reason to think she can do better now handicapping with the step up to 7f likely to unlock further improvement; the one to beat.
This looks a good opportunity for the William Haggas-trained AROUSING to win again. She is a progressive filly and I know she made hard work of things last time but she remains open to further improvement and the step up to 7f looks a good move for her handicap debut. A mark of 85 should be well within reach so it’s no surprise to see her figure prominently in the market. Shouldering was too keen at Kempton so if she settles better she could emerge as the danger to the selection. Perfect Times ran well when third last time and that looks good form so she is best of the rest but does need to take another step forward especially to trouble the favourite.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT TRAMORE ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON!
Tramore 4.15 Attitash (5/4)
Ran a big race on stable debut when second at Tipperary in testing conditions; lightly raced and could be a lot sharper now so good reason to think he will go close here; better ground could bring about further improvement.
We head to Ireland for our second best bet on Sunday and the Willie Mullins-trained ATTITASH can go one better. This son of Mahler is lightly raced and he ran a big race on debut for this yard when second at Tipperary. He travelled strongly into it and only found Nelson’s Point too good with the pair nicely clear from the rest and the field well strung out in behind. He is up just 4lb for that and with more to come he should prove too good for these under Townend. Gendarme is the closest in the betting but he was well held when only seventh at Wexford on Friday and he needs more. Royal Recital was second at Navan in the first-time cheekpieces and could build on that so is feared.
