NAP – Best selection of the evening

THE NAP (BEST BET) WAS A NON RUNNER YESTERDAY SO IS STILL ON A HAT-TRICK!

Hamilton 8.00 Title (5/4)

Camelot colt who confirmed the initial promise he showed at Newbury to open his account at Yarmouth in good style; ran well beaten just four lengths by Alenquer in the King Edward VII latest; more to come so hard to oppose.

It’s hard to look past TITLE here for Roger Varian. I think he comfortably put to bed the worry over his high head carriage when winning convincingly at Yarmouth in May. He probably improved in defeat at Royal Ascot last time and he won’t need to find much more to get back to winning ways here. He drops back slightly in trip which will help and these are much calmer waters. Kings Prince is 2 from 2 and is open to further improvement but the fav sets a lofty standard and has more to come himself so he looks to have enough to find. Aleas was fourth to Lone Eagle at Goodwood and had won 3 previously so also has to be considered but he will need to put that last run behind him.

Hamilton 8.00 Title (5/4)

Newbury 3.55 Flyin’ Solo (2/1)

Landed back-to-back wins and looked a horse going places at Newbury and York; not so good at Windsor but certainly not disgraced and no surprise to see him resume his progress here; sure to go well.

We head to Newbury on Friday afternoon for our second best bet of the day and I’m happy to stick with FLYIN’ SOLO here. He was beaten at Windsor last time but things just didn’t fall his way and he had a lot of ground to make up. I still think he could be capable of better and this looks a good opportunity for him to get back on track. He remains unexposed over 1m4f and if he gets a good pace to aim at I think he is the most likely winner. Oz Legend has cheekpieces applied now and is also fairly unexposed so looks one of the dangers as the market is suggesting. Skycutter was only denied a neck last time and will also enjoy going back up in trip so could be a greater threat to the favourite.
