Good looking chestnut filly who is progressing with experience; impressed again at Belmont last time showing a good attitude to prevail; hat-trick beckons now and looks one to keep safe under likely positive tactics.

It’s hard to look past POKER FACE here. She keeps the 3kg claim and in a small field she should be able to push forward and dominate again. She is clearly improving all the time and this looks another good opportunity to strike while the iron is hot. To Rise Again has recent form figures of 33232 and is ultra consistent. He is the obvious threat to the favourite but with just 3 wins from 25 starts he has to be vulnerable from a win perspective and given the potential the selection brings to the table I think she’ll have too much for him at the business end. Cable Boy was a bit flat on return but if he steps forward from that he could have a say in regards to a place.

Race 2 Townsville 4.42 Boudica’s Gift (6/4)

Improving filly who rounded off last campaign with back-to-back wins at Rockhampton; very good run when third on return and sure to tighten up from the run and do better now; big chance to take this out.

With a good draw BOUDICA’S GIFT can return to the winners enclosure. She s likely to want the lead and if she gets it I don’t think they’ll peg her back. She is on the upgrade and I’m certain she is going to improve on that comeback third at Rockhampton. This track should suit and I think she is better than these. It’s A Ploy certainly has ability and looms as one of the dangers but perhaps it will be Boomed who poses the biggest threat as he brings winning form the table and has 3 wins from 13 starts now and some of that form stacks up. Destroy The Star is another one open to further improvement but he might just need a bit more time especially to beat this fav who looks to be thriving right now.
