THE US NAP (BEST BET) WON AGAIN LAST NIGHT AND RUNS AT DEL MAR TONIGHT!
Race 9 Del Mar 2.00 As Time Goes By (5/4)
Exciting filly who blew rivals away on penultimate start and showed a great attitude to prevail by a nose last time; won 4 of her last 5 and with scope to improve further the hat-trick looks very much on the cards; keep on side.
This is a great race but I’m keen to side with AS TIME GOES BY as she bids to bring up the hat-trick. She bumped into Swiss Skydiver 3 starts back otherwise would be coming here having won 5 in a row. Her form is the best on offer and with more to come she has to be the one to beat. Shedaresthedevil is more exposed in comparison but has some very good form to her name so has to be respected. I actually think Venetian Harbor could emerge as a greater danger as her form is really consistent and she impressed on turf when last seen. She could end up getting into a battle with Shedaresthedevil for the lead though and if that happens that would be a perfect scenario for the selection to capitalise.

Race 8 Woodbine 9.46 Lorena (7/4)
Improving filly who created a big impression hacking up on debut and took another step forward on return to win easily over the extended 6f before taking her form to a new level up to 7f latest; can do better again up in trip; hard to oppose.
We head to Woodbine on Sunday night for our second best bet and LORENA can make it 4 straight. She is improving all the time and I think this further step up in trip can unlock further progress. She likes to dictate and with a lack of pace on here she could easily get her own way up front and gallop these into the ground. Curlin’s Catch was third to the selection last time and might be the one to chase her home tonight. Munnyfor Ro has been a bit of an eye-catcher recently and also enters calculations. At a bigger price Miss Marie took a big step forward to win over a similar trip here last time and if she can improve again she might run better than her odds are suggesting.
