NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) WON YESTERDAY AND RUNS AT NEWMARKET ON SATURDAY!
Newmarket 4.30 Quintillus (5/4)
Good looking chestnut who ran on strongly denied just a length in the Britannia at Royal Ascot when last seen; deservedly raised 5lb but this much easier and gets the three-year-old allowance; obvious chance.
I think QUINTILLUS will be hard to beat at Newmarket on Saturday afternoon. He is really getting the hang of things now and that was a big run in a fiercely competitive handicap at Royal Ascot when last seen. He remains open to further improvement and a 5lb rise doesn’t look enough to anchor him. I think he’ll race prominently and he should be in the box seat to take advantage. Fame And Acclaim is very consistent but looks vulnerable for win purposes. Lexington Dash would be a big player on the pick of his efforts but he struggles to always give his running and is opposable on the balance of his form. Maxi Boy was useful as a juvenile but needs to bounce back. Might be overpriced for a place.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT LINGFIELD ON SATURDAY EVENING!
Lingfield 5.05 Winterwatch (5/2)
Built on a couple of promising efforts to win easily at Catterick last month, staying on well in the closing stages; makes his handicap debut now off a workable mark and open to further improvement so rates the one to beat.
With the promise of more to come WINTERWATCH gets a confident vote here. He shed the maiden-tag in convincing style at Catterick and can improve again now going handicapping off a lenient looking mark. Grand Scheme was disappointing when last seen but is down in class and up in trip so could be one of the dangers. Epic Pass was second on stable debut last time and will like the step up to this trip so also has to be feared. Folly Beach is lightly raced and should have more to come but will need to get away on terms to be a factor here. Eton Blue has ability but doesn’t look the most straightforward and might just need a bit more time. Red Glory just doesn’t look good enough.
