THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN THE OPENER AT BALLARAT ON MONDAY MORNING!
Race 1 Ballarat 4.00 Mongolian Pride (11/8)
Improving with experience and got caught wide without cover when beaten just half a length into fourth at Pakenham earlier this month; too keen before that so if settling better definitely has the ability to win a race like this.
The Aussie NAP was a bit disappointing overnight so hopefully we can get back on track on Monday as we look to start a new week on a high. Just the 3 meetings so we head over to Ballarat where MONGOLIAN PRIDE can make the breakthrough. He has only had 5 starts to date and while his profile isn’t screaming out progressive I think he’s shown more than enough to win a race as weak as this. The key to him will be getting him to drop his head early and settle and if he takes a toe in he should prove too strong in the closing stages. He got caught wide last time and before that pulled too hard and had nothing left for the finish. On Board is 0/26 now but I guess he’d have to be the danger.

THE AUSSIE NB (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 4 AT GUNNEDAH OVERNIGHT!
Race 4 Gunnedah 6.15 Superior Witness (6/4)
Improved to make a winning return at Muswellbrook and while he has been beaten the last twice they were both good runs in defeat and this looks a good opportunity for him to record career win number four; better than these.
It was a frustrating night overnight for our best bets Down Under so hopefully we can get them back firing on Monday morning. We head to Gunnedah for our second best bet and SUPERIOR WITNESS can regain the winning threat in Race 4 on the card. His overall profile reads 3 wins from 9 starts including 2 placed efforts so he is trending the right way and looks a cut above this field to me. He will go aggressive and could easily make all here. Oslo is a horse I like with 3 wins from 13 starts and he should keep the favourite honest. I expect the pair to dominate and finish the 1-2. Final Declaration was third at Ballina and then second at Beaudesert but needs to find improvement from somewhere.
