NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) NEEDS A WINNER AND RUNS AT KEMPTON ON FRIDAY NIGHT!
Kempton 6.30 Beholding (4/5)
Promising filly who needed the experience on debut and improved to blow rivals away at Lingfield last time, quickening away to win by 10 lengths at the line; sure to progress again and if she does she will have all of these in trouble.
The market has this between the top 2 but for me it’s a one-horse race and BEHOLDING should make it 2 wins from her first 3 starts. She thrashed them last time and looks a nice prospect in the making. There isn’t much pace on so it will be interesting to see how this pans out but even so the turn of foot she possesses can get her out of trouble if this does turn tactical. King Capella failed to overcome inexperience on debut but ran well in second and looks the danger to the favourite. Restitution came forward from his debut to win at Yarmouth but this is tougher and he has since left John Gosden to join Alan King. Thebannerkingrebel switches to the Flat but this is a tough introduction.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT NEWTON ABBOT ON FRIDAY AFTERNOON!
Newton Abbot 3.03 She’s A Novelty (11/10)
Likeable mare who travelled notably well throughout before pulling clear to win by 6 lengths at Bangor last month; could kick on now she has her head in front and this looks a good opportunity for her to follow up; obvious chance.
We head over Jumps for our second best bet on Friday and the Fergal O’Brien-trained SHE’S A NOVELTY can win again. She had been catching the eye in defeat so it was good to see her finally shed the maiden-tag last time. Now she knows how to win she could really kick on. Ginger Du Val chased her home last time but was beaten 6 lengths and it’s hard to see her closing that gap even on revised terms. Amelia’s Dance needs the break to have revitalised her but taking enough on chance. Little Jessture tackles hurdles for the first time but is going to need to leave her bumper form behind to get involved. Nothing else appeals at bigger prices in a race that won’t take a great deal of winning.
