Race 4 Orange 5.40 Smuggler’s Bay (10/11)
Promising type who has won 2 from 3 and is unbeaten over this trip; form stacks up and with further improvement to come he should be extremely hard to beat on his return; looks on the upgrade so worth keeping safe.
I think SMUGGLER’S BAY will go to the front and he might not see another rival. He is 2-2 over this trip and wasn’t at his best when second at Bathurst on final start last campaign. Given time since and back down in trip he will be hard to hold under likely aggressive tactics. Absolutely Foxy has just the 1 win from 9 attempts but she is a likeable mare and I do think she is most likely to finish second. All Hollywood is a bit more exposed but does still need respecting. She hasn’t been at her best the last twice though so probably enough to prove on the balance of form. Pick The Score has won 3 times from 11 starts and also deserves a second look. All in all it’s a great chance for the fav on his return.

Smart mare who has 6 wins to her name from 30 starts including 6 placed efforts as well; been running really well lately winning over track and trip and then a good second last time; will be finishing strongly again here.
Harry’s Style is favourite for this which surprises me somewhat. PERFECT PAGE looks a much better bet to me. She knows how to win and couldn’t really be in better form. She just broke a bit awkwardly last time but ran on strongly to finish second. With a cleaner break here I think she’ll have too much for the fav in the closing stages. Harry’s Style is unexposed but I think he is going to need to bring his best form to trouble the selection. It looks between the pair but Starbuster at a bigger price could run well. He is a good looking grey who needs to rediscover some form but he did look quite promising initially. Fiorcast is making just his seventh start and could also do better in time.
