NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) WON YESTERDAY AND RUNS AT KEMPTON ON WEDNESDAY!
Kempton 5.45 Great Hunter (10/11)
Promising Dark Angel colt who handled the drop back to 6f with ease dotting up at Newcastle at the start of the month; looks a nice prospect and can defy a penalty back up to 7f here; one to keep firmly on side.
The NAP was back in the winners enclosure on Tuesday as Washington ran out a convincing winner on hurdles debut. We switch to the Flat on Wednesday and head to the AW where GREAT HUNTER can make it 2 wins from his first 3 starts. He was an impressive winner despite dropping back in trip last time and with further improvement to come he is going to take a lot of beating back up to 7f despite the penalty. Substantial ran well enough behind Top Table and Baltic Coast at Newcastle last time and if he improves on that he could be the danger. State Secretary was pulled up at Salisbury but also looks to have a future so can enter calculations if bouncing back.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) WON AGAIN YESTERDAY AND IS ON A FOUR-TIMER!
Fakenham 2.40 Atholl Street (6/4)
Made a bright start over hurdles winning well at Taunton this time last year despite pulling hard; backed that up making all at the same venue next time; something amiss in the Dovecote; tons of potential now chasing.
It’s a shame something went amiss with ATHOLL STREET in the Dovecote as we never got to see what he was potentially capable of. He had won his first two starts over hurdles in the style of a really nice prospect. He was put away after that and he retains potential in what looks a good starting point at Fakenham on Wednesday. Paul Nicholls is operating at a 30% strike rate at the moment so he has his string firing which is a big plus. Paddys Motorbike reached a decent level over timber and looks the type to make a chaser too. He is the danger but probably lacks the class-edge of the favourite. Cenotice made a winning debut for this yard at Perth but didn’t find much off the bridle when only fifth at Bangor.
