Race 7 Ascot 8.14 Real Charisma (11/10)

Progressive mare who has won 4 from 6 and impressed again back from a 4 month absence to win here last time, swooping from off the pace; scope to improve again and step up in trip also a big plus; leading chance.

With 2 wins from 3 starts at this track and four wins in a row REAL CHARISMA should be hard to beat at Ascot on Saturday morning. She is a mare going places and with this extra yardage looking ideal she should take a lot of beating here with Pike on again. Em Tee Aye is a fair yardstick with 3 wins from 19 starts but he just doesn’t look in the same league as the fav given the potential she brings to the table. Big Bada Boom looks a greater danger. He is 6 wins from 10 starts and is 2-2 over this trip so looks a threat. Brave Angel is capable of a big run at a bigger price but again she is going to need to improve as that last run on return just isn’t good enough for her to figure here.

Race 2 Rosehill 3.20 Mightybeel (5/4)

Promising type who has improved sharply recently winning here in good style at the start of the month and then backing that up at Randwick last time; chasing a hat-trick now and more to come yet so obvious shout again.

We head to Rosehill overnight for our second best bet Down Under and the likeable MIGHTYBEEL can bring up the hat-trick. He did it nicely last time and his form stacks up. Bowman takes over in the saddle which is a big plus and he can make it 2-2 at this track. Solar Apex landed back-to-back wins before finishing third at Randwick last time. He did begin awkwardly on that occasion so had excuses. If getting away better he could easily be the main danger to the selection. Lord Ardmore has just the 1 win from 11 starts but also has to be feared in a race like this. Fortified is 4 from 12 and will be looking to finish late. Probably a good bet to hit the frame when others are tiring.
