Newbury 2.25 Soaring Glory (5/4)
Won the Betfair Hurdle head in chest over C&D last season and looked better than ever winning Ascot Listed handicap on return last month, staying on well; can give weight and a beating here before eyeing up bigger targets.
The NAP jumped them silly yesterday so hopefully we can make it back-to-back winners on Saturday. I’ve always liked SOARING GLORY and he impressed me again on return beating a good field comfortably. He will strip fitter from that and remains open to further improvement. This is no easy task giving weight all round but he is clearly very talented and I think he’ll follow up before going on to better things this season. Onemorefortheroad is a likeable type who comes here chasing a hat-trick but I think he’ll go forward and could end up setting it up for the selection who will relish having a target to aim at. Gowel Road likes this track and trip and looks likely to emerge as the danger.

Newcastle 3.15 Epatante (13/8)
Three-time Grade 1 winner who ran out an impressive winner of this last year, thrashing Sceau Royal; problems since but reportedly been corrected and no surprise if she returns better than ever; looks the one to beat.
I’m really looking forward to seeing EPATANTE here and hopefully Nicky Henderson has her spot on. He seems quietly confident and given she won this so impressively last year if the issues with her back have been sorted she will be tough to beat. Sceau Royal has impressed this season but he was readily put in his place last year so has enough to find if the selection is back near her best. Monmiral is the obvious danger and will likely attract support but the ground might be quick enough and this will be tougher than anything he has faced if the fav bounces back taking on his elders for the first time. Silver Streak didn’t give his running at Kempton and is better than that so might show up well for a long way.
Daily Double
The Daily Double consists of both the NAP and NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the day to maximise profit. They run at Newbury and Newcastle on Saturday afternoon.
