NAP – Best selection of the evening
Sandown 12.05 Might I (6/4)
Improving fast judging by the way he quickened away from rivals to win by 11 lengths on hurdles debut at Newton Abbot when last seen; only going to progress again with that under his belt so well placed to make it 2-2.
Harry Fry looks to have a nice horse on his hands in the shape of MIGHT I. This horse made a winning start in a bumper at Warwick before finishing fifth in Listed company at Newbury. That race has worked out well since so it wasn’t a huge surprise to see him win on hurdles debut but perhaps it was to see him do it by 11 lengths. He looked a classy horse that day and with more to come he should remain unbeaten over hurdles. The only serious danger I see is Constitution Hill for Nicky Henderson. He cost £120,000 as a 4yo and is clearly going to have a nice future but he might need more experience and could just be bumping into one in the shape of the favourite.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT AINTREE ON SATURDAY MORNING!
Aintree 11.15 Bombs Away (6/4)
Likeable type who looked to have a nice blend of speed and stamina winning impressively on hurdles debut at Sandown last month, firmly in command at the line; still not the finished article so hard to oppose with more to come.
Despite racing keenly BOMBS AWAY went up nicely through the gears to win convincingly on hurdles debut at Sandown last month and if he improves on that again which he should then he can take care of these and make it a perfect 2-2 over timber for Olly Murphy. I think he needs a good gallop to be seen to best effect and with main market rival Richmond Lake likely to race freely on the front that should give him a nice target to aim at. North Lodge is intriguing on debut for Alan King but he’ll need to be fairly forward as the front pair in here both look nice prospects. Cirque Royal should come on for the experience when fifth at Cheltenham but this might not be any easier.
