Race 8 Hamilton 6.00 Enigma (6/4)

Promising mare who caught the eye running on strongly at Warrnambool on return and improved from that to win convincingly at Hamilton last time; handy 3kg claim here and fitter again so ticks plenty of boxes.

This looks a great opportunity for ENIGMA to follow up. She looked a bit unlucky on return where she was given a lot to do but came thundering home to miss by a couple of lengths. She stepped forward to get back to winning ways at Hamilton last time and with added fitness here she is going to take a lot of holding out. Fight On Shades is unexposed and won here last time. He looks the danger but will need to improve again to upset the fav who looks on an upward trajectory. Bailarin is 2 wins from 13 starts so shouldn’t be far away but was a bit flat at Kyneton last time so needs to bounce back from that. Rippa Buzz has a future too and could be involved for a place but also needs to bounce back.

Race 7 Murwillumbah 6.30 Hedonie (15/8)

Improving mare who comes here chasing a hat-trick after winning her last two starts at Ballina; profile is progressive now and if she steps forward again she is going to take a lot of beating in this field; big chance.

Hard to look past HEDONIE here as she is clearly progressing nicely now. Big field but not a lot of strength in depth and she looks to have found herself a great opportunity. Logan’s Blade has 5 wins from 40 starts and has to be respected on exposed form but the fact he is second fav says a lot about the quality of the race for me. Ilovethegame hasn’t fired for a while but then some of his form does stack up so it’s no surprise to see him fairly prominent in the betting. Demykani Miss still has potential with 2 wins and 3 seconds from just 10 starts so she certainly deserves a second look especially in terms of a place. Electric Dragon is a bit overpriced and might be worth an each way saver.
