Haydock 12.55 Nina The Terrier (11/10)
Progressive mare who was still in their pitching before coming down at Newbury last time; good form prior to that and sets the standard here so should get back on track; hard to beat if giving her true running.
This looks a good opportunity for NINA THE TERRIER to get back on track. She had looked an efficient hurdler prior to taking a tumble last time but that was a good race and I think the quality of the opposition put her under pressure. She would have stayed on well and was still giving her best at the time so I’m happy to put a line through that. This is easier and I expect her to get back on track. Current Mood has some decent form in the book so I don’t expect her to be far away but Sashenka may be the one to chase home the fav. She blew out somewhat at Cheltenham but that was a tough race and she will find these waters a bit calmer so could run better than her odds are suggesting.

Newcastle 2.50 Trooper Turnbull (11/8)
Likeable type who took a nice step forward to open his account over fences in convincing fashion at just the second time of asking at Wetherby last month; can definitely build on that and well placed to follow up.
Burrows Diamond came down too far out to know if he would have been a threat but even still jumping is the name of the game and TROOPER TURNBULL galloped on relentlessly to win by 3 lengths. He is open to further improvement over fences and has a good chance to make it 2 wins from 3. Burrows Diamond is probably the danger in here but obviously he’ll need to put in a clean round and his confidence may well have been knocked. Avoid De Master has recorded some solid form over fences but I get the impression he’ll only win this if picking up the pieces as the front pair in the betting look set to battle this one out. Uno Du Misselot is unexposed but this is tough and he’ll need to improve plenty.
