Race 3 Rockhampton 3.45 Aerial Combat (1/1)

Progressive form in recent starts doing well to win on penultimate start over a trip shorter than ideal before doing it impressively here again last time; extra yardage only going to help again so the hat-trick beckons here.

The unexposed AERIAL COMBAT can complete the hat-trick on first crack over this trip. He is getting better with experience and was firmly on top at the line last time. He is up in trip again and should have furhter improvement to come. The danger is clearly Sizzlepel who won narrowly over track and trip on penultimate start. She was beaten here last time but if bouncing back should give the fav something to think about. Poetic Heart is exposed in comparison to the front pair with 9 wins from 46 starts but on his best he would still be a threat so has to be considered. Cubix can run well but is definitely vulnerable for win purposes with just the 3 wins from a total of 20 starts now.

Race 2 Belmont 6.35 Senorita Dorotea (5/4)

Good looking chestnut filly who ran a race full of promise when beaten just half a length on debut at Ascot last week; sure to progress from that initial effort and looks well placed to go one better; keep firmly on side.

There was lots to like about the debut run from SENORITA DOROTEA in a stronger race than this at Ascot last week. She is likely to have come on from that and looks well placed by connections to go one better. My Baby Blue Jean is the closest rival in the betting and is making her racecourse debut so could emerge as the danger. She won a trial at Lark Hill earlier this month and is related to some decent winners. She does have a wide gate though and will obviously lack experience. Via Monte is 0/5 but has finished second 3 times so also has to be feared. Near Perfect looked to need the experience on debut and is also a likely improver here. She might just need a bit more time and experience though.
