NAP – Best selection of the evening
Plumpton 1.10 Essential Jaco (1/1)
Ran out an impressive winner on Rules debut on first start for this yard at Lingfield last month; travelled strongly into the race before going clear; scope to improve and looks one to keep firmly on side for now.
A lot like Venetia Williams with yesterday’s NAP the Gary Moore yard continue to fire in the winners and ESSENTIAL JACO looks hard to oppose at Plumpton on Sunday. He won really impressively on debut under Rules at Lingfield and looks a nice prospect going forward. If he handles this fairly quick turnaround he should make it 2-2 on these shores. World Of Dreams was a good second at Hereford behind Stag Horn and that form brings him into the mix. He looks the biggest danger to the favourite. Blade Runner makes his debut for Chris Gordon and could be a useful proposition in time but this is quite a big ask first-up especially given the potential the selection brings to the table after that last win.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS ON THE AW AT NEWCASTLE ON SUNDAY!
Newcastle 12.55 Tipperary Tiger (5/4)
Likeable type who ran a cracker denied narrowly at Wolverhampton before winning convincing at Southwell last time; weighted to go in again under a 5lb penalty and looks hard to oppose; should have too much.
Not a great deal of quality in this field so I think last time out winner TIPPERARY TIGER is a standout to follow up. He won stylishly at Southwell and if he is in the same form here under a 5lb penalty he is going to take all the beating. Toussarok should go a good gallop so I don’t think it will turn tactical which can sometimes happen in these small fields. Ballyconneely Bay would be my idea of the danger. We haven’t seen him for 7 months but he still has low mileage so could go well. Asadjumeirah is also returning from a break and shaped well when third in a good race at Nottingham. He usually needs his first run though so is entitled to come on for it but is definitely one to keep an eye on as well.
